What we do
PAKTChildren's Programme
The programmes and activities are structured to support and assist the personal development of your child. We encourage participants to make new friends and take part in activities which will give them basic skills to benefit them in later life. Having FUN is a core value of the project. Core activities might include: Learn to Swim, Drama, Arts & Crafts, Trampoline, Cookery, Fun Tennis, Sign Language, Football, Gymnastics, Learn to Draw etc. Also special events throughout the year.

All programmes are subject to change and are selected as a result of the family profiles undertaken on an annual basis.

We currently have resources to provide programmes for children from P2-P7. All activities are held after school until 7.00 pm at the latest. These programmes take place at various locations including, the PAKT Club House, Leisure Centre, local Schools and Community Centres.

PAKT also has a summer programme consisting of a Summer Scheme which runs for 3 weeks for PAKT Kids and 3 weeks open house for teenagers.

Playing PoolTeenager Programme
The teenager club is held once a week on a Thursday evening 7.30 to 11 p.m. An open house also operates for the teenagers to drop in anytime. Residential's and special events are also organised throughout the year. Teenagers are encouraged to participate in training opportunities.

Family Programme
The family programme is designed to build upon the relationships forged through the Children's and Parent's Programme, thereby extending friendships. The family is at the heart of the PAKT Project and families are encouraged to spend time together through a range of activities which include: Days Away, Spring and Summer Challenges, Bar-b-ques etc.

Boat TripParent's Programme
The aim of the parent's programme is to provide support for parents where they feel it is needed. PAKT believes that by giving parents the opportunity to come together to socialise and share their experiences of parenting, we can work together to build a better future for our families and our community. The activities organised in this programme are selected and shaped by the parents and carers who get involved. Some core activities could include: Adult Educational Courses, First Aid, CLAIT Fitness, Socialising, Craft activities, etc.

Volunteer Programme
When you become a PAKT Volunteer you become a member of a very vibrant and energetic team. The team will meet regularly to discuss volunteer issues, for training and socialising. We are always on the look out for more volunteers-so please do consider giving us some of your valuable time. Volunteers assist in various ways:

  • Supervising the children, marking the register etc.
  • Assisting tutors to deliver activities.
  • Help with one-off family events.
  • Assisting with the running of the Summer Scheme.
PAKT programmes depend upon the excellent assistance which parent volunteers and others provide.
