Carrickfergus YMCA was presented with a cheque for £6756.00 towards their work with young people in the Carrickfergus Borough area . The Presentation was made by Mr David Patton, Trustee of Lloyds TSB Foundation for N Ireland when he visited the organisation recently .Mr Patton stated " The Lloyds TSB foundation for Northern Ireland is delighted to be able to support the work of Carrickfergus YMCA .The money will be used towards supporting the Area 51 - Communities for the future project. We wish the organisation continuing success with their excellent work in the community."
The grant will be used to provide disabled access to the Youth centre and employ a tutor to provide English classes for young people who do not speak English as a first language and are newcomers to the area .
Lloyds TSB Foundation for N Ireland awards between £1.5 and £2 million annually in support of the Northern Ireland Community to enable people ,especially disadvantaged or people with special needs to play a fuller role in the community .
