| Chronicles Of Long Kesh |

| As part of ongoing Good Relations programme a number of young people from the Area 51 Youth club attended a community preview of martin Lynchs play the Chronicles of long Kesh. The play dramatised the history of the prison and how young people from both sides of the community in the 70s became involved in para-military organisations . It highlighted that the experiences and motivations for the young people at that time were the same no matter which side of the community divide they came from . The play was excellent and showed the pointlessness of the violence and its impact on every one in the community. For a few of the Youth Club members, it was their first experience of live theatre. The YMCA would like to thank Lyndsay Davidson ,who volunteers with the YMCA ,for organising the tickets to the performance. |
