| About Carrickfergus YMCA |
| Founded in 1874, Carrickfergus YMCA is an Association of
people from different Christian traditions motivated by
their faith in Jesus Christ to express the love of God
through service, without distinction or condition, to
young people and their families/corers.
At Carrickfergus YMCA our mission is to demonstrate
the Christian gospel by: - developing and sustaining a community of Christian
people committed to the personal and social
development (body, mind and spirit) of all children
and young people in the Borough of Carrickfergus
and to supporting their parents and carers.
- Engaging young people in active citizenship by
providing educational, recreational and support
programmes guided by Christian principles and
delivered by appropriately trained leaders.
- Engaging young people in the development and
management of programmes.
- Supporting, without stigma or prejudice, young people
who are at risk from social exclusion, marginalisation
or spiritual homelessness.
- Providing safe environments that are inviting, caring
and accessible to young people.
- Providing practical support, information advice to
young people and their parents/corers.
- Entering into partnerships and consultations with
other agencies to provide a range of services and
facilities for the young people of Carrickfergus.
